Concert Band Camp – Fri. 11/20

November 18, 2009

MHS Concert Band Camp will occur on Fri. 11/20 from 6-10:00 pm Volunteers (6-8 adults) are need to assist with the scavenger hunt (you need to arrive at 9:15 pm) and serve pizza following the activity. Please contact Sean O'Donnell-Brown via e-mail if you can help.

Band Booster Update

November 8, 2009

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the District Music festival at WIU on Sat. 11/7. The performances were excellent! We are very fortunate to have so many talented students in our district, as well as support for our fine arts programs from teachers, families, friends, and administrators.

Don't Forget—Band Booster Meeting, Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 pm in the MHS Band room. (agenda, treasurer's report with fundraising summaries, and last meeting minutes attached). Please try to attend the meeting. We need your creative thought processes!

Also—MHS Band Fruit sale is in progress. Fruit will arrive just in time for the holidays (Dec. 12th). The quality is excellent and the prices are quite reasonable. If you do not have or know a current band member, feel free to contact me and I will connect you with one.

Formalwear Fitting

November 3, 2009

The fitting for formalwear went very smoothly. Special thanks to all the volunteers who assisted with this event and parents who submitted verification forms and payments!

Attention Parents: A formalwear verification form is required for every student. Please check with your student to be sure that one was submitted. If not, please submit by no later than Friday 11/6.

There are a number of students who did not order formalwear. If you did not order or were unable to attend the fitting Tues. evening, please contact Cindy Cavett by the end of this week. All band members must have formalwear for the concert on Sun. Dec. 13th.

MHS Band Fruit Sale

November 4, 2009

The annual Macomb High School Band fruit sale began Monday, November 2, and will run until November 16th 2009. Band members will be selling U.S. Florida Citrus: navel oranges, ruby red grapefruit and tangelos. Also being sold are a variety of apples: Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Braeburn and Fuji. Customers may also choose D'Anjou pears and pineapples. This premium fruit comes in small, large and combination boxes and makes a great gift for the holiday season. The fruit is provided by Blue Freedom Farm Markets, Inc. from Sterling, IL. All proceeds go to support the award-winning MHS Bomber Band program and its activities.

Distribution date for the fruit is 7:00 am–12:00 pm Saturday, December 12, 2009, in the Macomb High School Commons. For more information call Gayle Zahnle at 309-333-6421 or via e-mail.

Formalwear Update—Dresses

Per Cindy Cavett—the dress company has increased the dress cost to $55 (from $52).
