Chaperones – Your help was tremendous. Thank you very much!
Teachers – Thank you for allowing the students out today to attend Music Contest at PORTA. It was a wonderful day filled with excellent performances and, as we might expect, excellent behavior. Our kids showed what being from Macomb is all about.
Parents – Thank you for braving the elements upon our return. It was probably more of a rain dance to cancel evening activities and have your kids at home, for at least 1 night. You should be very proud of them. They were great!

Just a reminder, Music Contest is Friday. If you plan to attend, I have attached directions from Google maps to help guide you. You may sign out your youngster and take them home if you wish. See any chaperone for a parent signature.

9:45 Depart MJHS for PORTA Jr. High ~11:25 pm Arrive PORTA Jr. High, unload equipment, proceed to homerooms 11:30-11:50 Lunch in PORTA cafeteria- student sack lunch 12:00 8th Grade Band/7th Grade Chorus proceed to Warm-up areas 12:30 8th Grade Band/7th Grade Chorus perform, others watch performances 1:00 7th Grade Band/8th Grade Chorus proceed to Warm-up areas 1:30 7th Grade Band/8th Grade Chorus perform, others watch performances 2:00 Swing Choir proceed to Warm-up area, chorus only students to the auditorium All other band members load equipment, proceed to auditorium 2:30 Swing Choir performs, others watch performance 2:50 Load buses, depart for Macomb ~4:30 Buses return to MJHS, help unload, dismiss

Macomb Band Boosters exists to support all aspects of the Macomb school band program, especially our band directors and the other faculty and staff who work every day to make band a valuable part of our kids' education.
Teacher Appreciation Week takes place during the first full week of May this year, May 5-9.
Band Boosters would like to encourage band families to contribute treats during that week to let faculty and staff know how much we appreciate the work that they do. Please drop off contributions, marked for either the junior high or high school (or both), anytime during the week.

Chaperones are needed for the Superstate concert band festival at the U of I in Champaign on May 2 (this event involves the Wind Symphony only.) Busses will depart from Macomb at approx. 1:30 pm and return that evening at 11:00. If you can chaperone, please contact Kelly Fitzgerald.

Spring Trip Update for Students, Parents, and Chaperones
MHS spring trip chaperones will meet on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 pm in the MHS Band Room.
Concert Band and Wind Symphony must present their luggage for pre- departure inspection on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively, in the MHS auditorium foyer.
Concert Band and Wind Symphony will rehearse on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm, respectively, in the MHS Band Room.

Dear Parents,
This is just a reminder that the students will be attending the IESA organization contest on Friday, April 25th in Petersburg-Porta, Illinois. We are still ironing out some particulars with the contest site, so a detailed itinerary is forthcoming.

Students will need to bring a sack lunch to the contest. We will be passing around a sign up sheet tomorrow (Thursday) to see which students would like an Aramark lunch deducted from their accounts.

Important information regarding the Tuesday, April 8 band booster meeting:
Nomimations for next year's officers will be accepted from the floor at the April 8 meeting. A slate of officers will then be presented and voted on at the May 13 meeting. Please come if you are interested in getting more involved! The full agenda for the meeting is available on the band website, www.macombbands.org.
The meeting will take place at 7:00 pm in the band room.
